Ed Russell, the President of Martinwood, is a graduate of Ohio University with a degree in Architecture. Ed started building and designing custom homes in 1979 in Stuart, Florida. He moved with his family in 1990 to Flat Rock, North Carolina, to enjoy an improvement in quality of life and has since built many different and unique mountain homes.

Ed prides himself on his workmanship and works as a hands-on builder. He can be found daily on the job working alongside his crews of established subcontractors. Many of the subcontractors have worked for Ed since his first home was built.

If you have a need for assistance with land evaluation prior to purchasing property, or before building, he can be of help. Building on steep, mountain property can be a challenge, and only a select few are truly capable.
